Mahmudul Haque
Prof. Mahmudul Haque (1945) is accepted as a one of the senior artist of Bangladesh. He has been completed his BFA from The Dhaka University (1968) and MFA from Tsukuba University, Japan (1984). He studied Print Making under the guidance of Mr. Micheal Ponce-de-Leon of USA and Prof. Shiraki Tashiyuki (Japan). As a visiting teacher he visited in USA, Germany, Japan, Pakistan. He participated in many National and International Art Exhibitions in the country of Germany, Yugoslavia, Japan, India, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Korea, Kuwait, U.S.A, China, Paris, France & Oslo, Norway. He did 15 Solo Exhibitions in BD, 13 in Japan, Pakistan (3), Sri Lanka (1), USA (1) and Germany (1). He also received many Awards including `Best Painting Award Tsuchiura City’, Japan, 10th National Academy Award, Bangladesh, 1992. Honorable Mention Award, 6th Asian Biennial, Bangladesh, 1993. Best Painting Award Tsuchiura City, Japan 1982. Monbukagakusho (Japan), 10th National Academy Award, Bangladesh, 1992. Honorable Mention Award, 6th, 7th, 8th Asian Biennial, Bangladesh, 1993, 1995, 1997. Purchase Award, Lalit Kala Academy, India, 1994. 2nd prize, 12th Kuwait international Biennial (2nd prize)- 1996. Honour Given by the Metropolitan Rotary Club of Calcutta, 1999. Now he is working as an Honorary Professor in Department of Print Making, Faculty of Fine art, University of Dhaka, Dhaka-1000, Bangladesh.
