Rafiqun Nabi

Rafiqun Nabi (born in 1943) is one of the senior artists of Bangladesh. In his journey through Art movement of the Country, he has been busy practicing many medias. Graduating in Fine Art (BFA) in 1964, He joined as a teacher in the same college – East Pakistan College of Arts and Crafts, Dhaka (Now Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka). He studied Print Making in Athens School of Fine Art, 1973-76 and specialized in wood cut. He retired from the job as Dean in 2009. He at present is supernumerary Professor in the Faculty and is involved in Painting and wood-cut. His fascination is in experimenting with in larger prints. He has participated in many important Biennials, group shows in the Country and abroad like Asian Art-Dhaka. Indian Triniale, Lublijana, Inter graflk’80 Berlin, British Print Bradford, Norway and Osaka Biennial etc. Other Group Shows-190. Solo-14, including Greece and Yugoslavia. He has received award in Inter Grafik’80. He has been awarded Ekushe Padak, The Highest Honour By the Govt. of Bangladesh.
