Nagarbasi Barman

Born in 1973, after completing his B.F.A in printmaking from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, Barman won the Indian Government (ICCR) Scholarship and pursued his M.F.A in printmaking from VivsaBharati University, Santiniketan, India. He has been a practicing artist for many years and has participated in ten national level Art Exhibitions, twenty-six Group Art Exhibitions and two Solo Art Exhibitions in Dhaka and other cities of Bangladesh. His works have been part of fifteen vital exhibitions in India and other countries like France, Iran, Japan and America. He was honored with three prestigious awards: Honourable Mention at the 18th National Art Exhibition 2009, Best Award in all media, Annual Art Exhibition, Dept. of Fine Arts, University of Rajshahi in 1993 and Best Award in all media, Annual Art Exhibition, Dept. of Fine Arts, University of Rajshahi in 1999. He attended many Art camps and a Residence program including International Art Camp for the Printmaking, Uttarayan Art Foundation, Baroda, India and International Graphics Camp Cum Seminar, Indira Kala Sangeet University, Khairagarh, India. He is curently working as a Head of the Department and Assistant professor at the Department of Fine Arts, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh.
